Move over Audrey Hepburn, Anna Friel is making the part of Holly Golightly her own in the stage version of the famous movie.

A star-studded audience saw Anna Friel bare all in the opening night of the hotly anticipated stage version of Breakfast at Tiffany's.

The former Brookside star was watched by a host of celebrities including Sir Ian McKellen, Paul O'Grady, Cilla Black, Richard E Grant, Sir David Frost and Rachel Stevens.

Friel's performance in the role which established Audrey Hepburn as a glamour icon, includes a nude scene, where the actress trips off under a sun lamp.

Despite clocking in at two and three quarter hours, the play which is adapted by Samuel Adamson from Truman Capote's classic short story drew plaudits from the starry crowd.

Sir Ian McKellen gushed: 'It was wonderful, you should bring someone you love to see it.'

Paul O'Grady praised Friel's performance: 'I thought it was great. I've never seen the film you see - I can't stand Audrey Hepburn. But I'm a great fan of the book and it was very true to the book. I thought she (Friel) was very good.'
